EU funding for a cycle route between Markovec and Koper city centre

SLOVENIA, August 17 - The project will provide Koper residents with safer and more pleasant routes for their daily errands, commuting to work or school, and travelling to the city centre. The construction of a new cycle path and pedestrian areas along Kvedrova cesta Street will provide cyclists and pedestrians with a safe, modern connection between Markovec and the city centre. The investment aims to promote cycling and walking as healthy and environmentally friendly modes of transport, while helping to reduce traffic congestion and environmental impacts. At the same time, it will improve road safety and contribute to a better quality of life for residents.

The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and will receive support from the European Regional Development Fund.

The project, with a total value of €662,730.27, will receive €213,771.95 from the European Regional Development Fund. The beneficiary of the funding is the Urban Municipality of Koper.
