SLOVENIA, May 15 - The project will include the final development of publicly accessible green spaces between the Gosposvetska ulica and the Bleiweis cesta streets in the centre of Kranj on the site of a newly established memorial park dedicated to Dr Bleiweis. In addition to new park areas, the area will be landscaped with a mix of trees, shrubs, climbing plants, and perennials to enhance its greenery. Lawns, recreation zones, a playground, senior exercise stations, and various street furniture will also be provided.

The project aims to improve the quality of the urban environment by creating a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space for visitors of all ages. The new park will offer areas for social interaction, recreation, and relaxation, contributing to a higher quality of life in the city of Kranj.  In total, over 1.000 hectares of green spaces are set to be renovated under the project.

The €2,512,617.66 project will be implemented under Slovenia's EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. It will receive €743,582.76 from the European Regional Development Fund. The beneficiary of the funds will be the Urban Municipality of Kranj.
