EU funding for sustainable mobility: Regional integrated transport strategy of Jugovzhodna Slovenija region approved

SLOVENIA, December 23 - Regional integrated transport strategy is a strategic document designed to set the framework for the development and management of transport in the Jugovzhodna Slovenija region. The project will contribute to the development of urban mobility and the establishment of a sustainable transport system, thereby improving living and business conditions.

The main objectives of the project are to:

·       improve accessibility and integrate public transport with cycling and walking,

·       coordinate regional projects between municipalities and cooperate with state authorities,

·       promote sustainable mobility and support the local community,

·       implement a procurement procedure to select the entity to develop the regional integrated transport strategy and coordinate the strategy preparation process.

The total amount of funding allocated for the implementation of the project is €100,000.

The contribution in the programme area of Slovenia as a whole amounts to €80,000, with the European Union support standing at €68,000. National contribution provided from the state budget stands at €12,000.

The beneficiary of the financial contribution is the Development Centre Novo mesto d.o.o. The project is being implemented under Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, within the priority Sustainable cross-regional mobility and connectivity. The eligibility period runs from 1 February 2025 to 30 September 2027.
